Personal life
Francis, Beauvillier's older brother, also plays hockey. They both appeared together for the Shawnigan Cataractes for a brief period of time in 2013-14. Francis was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and now plays for the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Anthony is best friends with Islanders colleague Mathew Barzal, who was with them when they competed for Canada at the 2015 World U18 Championships.

Playing career
Beauvillier competed in the 2009 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Montreal Canadiens minor ice hockey team. He was drafted by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the 1st round (2nd overall) of the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft, and he appeared in 64 games with the Cataractes during the 2013-14 QMJHL season. When he was chosen to participate in the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, where he led Team Cherry as captain for the following season, his outstanding play was rewarded. He was also selected to the 2014–15 QMJHL Second All-Star Team.
Beauvillier was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the New York Islanders on October 23, 2015. Beauvillier made his NHL debut on October 13, 2016 in the Islanders' season-opening game in which he received his first assist. Beauvillier's first NHL goal against Aaron Dell of the San Jose Sharks was scored on October 18, 2016.
Beauvillier was the Islanders' opening night roster for the 2018--19 season. Beauvillier won the Islanders 7–5 victory over the New York Rangers on November 15, his first ever NHL hat-trick to help guide the Islanders to victory. Beauvillier re-signed with the Islanders on August 28, 2019 for a two-year contract.
He scored what ended up being the final goal at the Nassau Coliseum, an overtime winner in Game 6 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Semifinals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, avoiding elimination and forcing Game 7 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, where the Islanders were defeated, ending their season.
Beauvillier was re-signed by the Islanders on September 1, 2021, to a three-year, $12.45 million contract.
