Annie Chen (born 28 April 1989) is a Taiwanese actress and model. In 2007, she became the first person to win the Kaiwo Phantasy Star Catwalk Girl modelling competition.
She made her acting debut in Prince + Princess 2 in 2005, playing the lead role Zhao Ke Rou a year later.
Early life
Chen was born in Taichung, Taiwan, on April 28, 1989. She is the only child in the family. Chen claimed in interviews that she was created in vitro fertilization because her parents had a difficult timeconceiving a child naturally. In Taichung, her father owned a wholesale frozen poultry shop that went bankrupt in 2010 as a result of the bird flu virus outbreak that year in Taiwan. She attended Viator Catholic High School () in junior high school and graduated from Shin Min High School (). She studied finance at Kainan University and began working during her senior year. She then transferred to Hsing Wu University of Science and Technology, Department of Finance, where she resigned due to her work.
Personal life
Chen and actor George Hu revealed their engagement on Instagram in January 2022. The pair had worked together on the 2012 television series Love, Now and the 2013 drama Love Around.
Career
Chen is 5 foot (9 in (1.75 m) tall. She competed in modeling competitions where she captured the championship title at the 2007 "Phantasy Star" CatwalkGirl competition. The application process ran from June 18 to August 18 of 2007. After winning, she began to work at the Catwalk Production House and gain more responsibilities, including being an MTV Taiwan VJ host, an advertising endorser of various products, and a well-known magazine cover model.
After appearing in Judy Chou's music video and finishing runner-up in the One Million Star singing competition, she gains her first recognition as an actress in 2008. Zhao Kerou appeared in CTS' Prince + Princess 2 as the female lead for her first acting career.
