Career
When the Nazis in Paris demanded that films be shown with German subtitles, her language skills enabled her to land a job as a subtitle translator for a French film distributor. She was recruited in 1948 to produce a television show called the Paris Cavalcade of Fashion. She also served as a location scout on the 1952 edition of Moulin Rouge for John Huston. She arranged celebrity parties at the Cannes Film Festival from 1953 to 2005.
Kirk Douglas was divorced from his first wife, Diana Dill, with whom he had two sons, Michael and Joel, when he first met him in Paris in 1953. They appeared in Act of Love, directed by Anatole Litvak, both as an actor and as a publicist. He offered her a job as her publicist, which she initially refused, but later explained: "She eventually agreed to work with me on a trial basis, indicating that our relationship would be strictly business."
