On average, more than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, making it the most common cancer in men. Around 12,000 men die every year from the condition, or about one every 45 minutes. Hormonotherapy, which plays a vital role in halting tumor formation, is one of the most commonly used prostate cancer treatments. However, some tumors are resistant to the drug, so some patients will recover and progress as a result of their chemotherapy.
