As forward Andrei Svechnikov went down against the Vegas Golden Knights with a knee injury, the Carolina Hurricanes were dealt a serious blow to their Stanley Cup hopes. Svechnikov will miss the remainder of the season to recoverive surgery on his right ACL, according to Hurricane general manager Don Waddell. The surgery will be carried out in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday, and Svechnikov will play at home for the playoffs.
