Anabelle Langlois Career

Career

Langlois joined Patrice Archetto in 1998. She fractured her skull as a result of her fall on a throw back at the 1998 Canadian Championships. Six months afterward, she wore a hockey helmet. Langlois/Archetto received the silver medal at the 2002 Four Continents Championships, five Grand Prix medals, and five Canadian national medals. In Edmonton, Jan Ullmark coached the two kids. When Archetto retired from action in 2005, their partnership came to an end.

In 2005, Langlois met Cody Hay. At the 2006 Skate America, the pair came in fourth place. Because the airline lost Langlois' skates, they were forced to cancel from their second tournament, the 2006 Cup of Russia. Langlois/Hay earned bronze at the 2007 Canadian Championships and were named to their first Worlds squad. At the 2007 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, they finished 10th.

Langlois-Hay competed at Skate Canada and NHK Trophy in the 2007–08 season before winning their first national championship at the 2008 Canadian Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia. They went on to compete in Sweden, where they placed 8th in 2008.

Langlois suffered a spiral fracture in her lower right fibula during practice on July 23, 2008 and underwent surgery a week later, after which she had five screws and a metal plate in her ankle. Both Grand Prix events were contested when the pair were selected to the 2008 Skate Canada International and 2008 NHK Trophy. Langlois returned to training in mid-September but had trouble walking during a practice session on January 6, 2009. It was determined that she had tissue damage, and the pair was disqualified from the 2009 Canadian Championships. Around February 2009, she underwent surgery to remove the screws and metal plate. The pair were later disqualified from the 2009 Four Continents Championships and the 2009 World Championships.

The 2009 Nebelhorn Trophy, Langlois/Hay's first international competition since she suffered, was held in Oberstdorf, Germany. They were back on the Grand Prix circuit in November 2009, placing 4th at Skate Canada in Kitchener, Ontario, where they placed fourth. Langlois/Hay earned the silver medal alongside Jessica Dubé / Bryce Davison and was selected to the Olympic team at the 2010 Canadian Championships in London, Ontario. They finished ninth in Vancouver, British Columbia, placing them 9th.

Langlois resigned from active play on May 21, 2010. On CBC, she appeared in Battle of the Blades' fall 2010 and fall 2011 seasons.
