Amy Wright (born April 15, 1950) is an American actress and former model.

She has appeared in films including The Deer Hunter, Breaking Away, The Accidental Tourist, Hard Promises, Crossing Delancey, and Miss Firecracker. Rip Torn was married to actress Katie and Claire Torn from 1989 to his death in 2019.

Wright is a graduate of the University of Chicago Laboratory School and Beloit College.

She also appeared in The Scarlet Letter and Tom and Huck, which were produced in 1995. Shelby played in the original productions of Fifth of July and Noises Off.

Career

Wright spent time in Rockford, Illinois, before moving to New York, where she spent time with Uta Hagen. (both produced in 1995). The Next Step is a Netflix series created by Sheryl Crow.

As Shelby, Wright appeared in Les and Bess' original production of Breakfast. In the original productions of Fifth of July and Noises Off, Wright also appeared on Broadway. Wright is currently on the faculty of HB Studio in New York City.
