My heart is full. To see my friends I went to high school with in Switzerland after so many years. To relive the memories. To feel their energy again. To meet their wonderful children. It was all so lovely. Here are a few old pics of some of the CDL crew. I have too many to post of you all! Vous me manquez! . (Sorry I had to post this three times! More backlogged #auditionlooks! Lotsa info here. The first one, I almost booked but didn’t. The second one was my last in person audition before lockdown. I remember seeing a friend, who leaned in and touched my shoulder and I froze. No one seemed to acknowledge what was going on at that point, but I remember being very nervous about being out. And the third pic is my first Zoom audition during lockdown, where I realized you only have to dress from the waist up, hence the slippers! I included some technical description on that one too so you can see how the day-to-day changed for actors during the pandemic. If we booked jobs at that point, we were asked to shoot the jobs ourselves at home and do the work of several departments (DP, lighting, set design, make-up, wardrobe, etc), but many brand companies weren’t paying more for all the extra work. Nor were they finding ways to keep other departments employed. For example, they could hire a wardrobe stylist for a Zoom consultation with the actor. Instead many people lost jobs. I did work with the unions to try to stop this abuse of power but capitalism won. Anyway, here are the descriptions! 1) “STRONG COMEDY/IMPROV SKILLS. She's an exotic beauty, most likely from Asia or Eastern Europe descent, she's very confident, and a veteran in the industry with major modeling experience. Wardrobe: Stylish upscale casual - dressed as a fashionable host for a reality TV show about modeling.” 2) “BUSINESS ATTIRE. A busy politician short on time. She’s not one for small talk, she likes solutions and she likes them now. She’s not unlikeable, she’s just stretched and trying to be efficient. She feels at home in a Sorkin drama.” 3) “Comedic woman. Interesting face! CASUAL.....FOR THIS SPOT THERE WILL BE NO CREW - TALENT WILL VIDEO THEMSELVES FROM HOME- PLEASE BE PREPARED TO WALK THOUGH WHERE YOU LIVE.” I look forward to even after all the explanation of why I post these, some dude still missing the point and telling me which pic they want to bone the most. #myauditionlooks Posted by @thealisonbecker on Aug 13, 2022 04:44PM
