Alejandro "Alec" Ferguson (born July 19, 1978) is an Argentine cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper who has played for Argentina since 1994. Ferguson made his debut as a fifteen-year-old lower-middle order batsman, but he averaged only five with the bat in the tournament, as Argentina finished third in their Plate Group. Ferguson made it to the 2001 ICC Trophy tournament, where he competed in two matches for the team seven years ago. In February, he competed in Division Two of the 2006 World Cricket League Americas Region. Ferguson was the tournament's Division Two Wicketkeeper, with five catches and one stumping in four matches, making him the tournament's most successful Argentine fielder. In August 2006, he was in Division One of the same tournament, but he could not prevent Argentina from finishing winless and at the bottom of the table. Ferguson is a first-choice wicketkeeper and an upper-middle order batsman for the team. George Ferguson, his grandfather, played for Argentina and was a member of the South American cricket team that toured England in 1932, playing six first-class matches. In September 2019, he was selected in Argentina's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the 2019 South American Cricket Championships' men's tournament. * On October 3, 2019, he made his T20I debut for Argentina against Mexico.
