JOE BERNSTEIN: Irvine, who has been with David Moyes for two decades, scouted West Ham's opponents for all 15 of their European games as they look for their first major trophy since 1980. The Hammers gave the 65-year-old Scot a new 12-month contract as a reward for his signing last week in the Europa League as they begin a new campaign. Irvine, Moyes' No. 2 at Everton from 2004 to join him as assistant manager at West Ham before moving to 2021 to be closer to his family in the north of England.
