AC Milan was defeated 5-2 at the San Siro in another important play, while Juventus was defeated at home to Monza. TOM COLLOMOSE: Leicester hopes to recruit Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina in the first week. The Argentine attacker is a top priority for the Foxes, who are likely to make him one of the club's highest-paid players if they can negotiate a fee with the Serie A team. Fiorentina is seeking around £30 million for the 24-year-old, who is believed to be earning less than £83,000 a week - more than no other player has been paid in Florence.

ALVISE CAGNAZZO IN ITALY: There was only one positive on Juventus' miserable evening when they fell out of the Champions League, and it was Samuel Iling-Junior. In the 4-3 loss at Benfica, the young English midfielder displayed all his strength and technical ability, assuaging Juventus to dramatically raise the quality of the team in less than 20 minutes. The 19-year-old scored two goals and appeared to be a key figure in the Italian team's lineup on his debut in the Champions League last Friday after a commotion few minutes against Empoli in Serie A last Friday.

Ademola Lookman (pictured) scored a spectacular solo goal in the second half to double Atalanta's lead after Hans Hateboer's opener. Atalanta lost their first match of the season last week against Maurizio Sarri's side later this week. In the 32nd minute, Atalanta took the lead against Empoli, when Teun Koopendras took the ball back from the byline for Lookman. His gun was confiscated, but Hateboer was charged with an angled drive into the far bottom corner.

Leicester lost their cool in 25-degree heat as Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva, who was last year told that he would not return to action due to a rare hip injury, earned a point for their team.
