Early life

Adam Carolla was born on May 27, 1964, to Jim and Kris (née McCall) Carolla. Some sources list Los Angeles County, California, while others list it as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in the Los Angeles area, and his parents separated when he was young. Carolla was not given a middle name by his parents; on his driver's license application, he referred to his middle name as "Lakers" as a prank. The application was processed without warning. László Görög, his maternal step-grandfather, was a screenwriter. Despite the fact that Carolla's ancestry is 100% Italian-American, he nevertheless associates with Jewish history due to his closeness with Görög as a child.

Adam was born in Los Angeles's North Hollywood neighborhood. He attended Colfax Elementary School, Walter Reed Junior High School, and North Hollywood High School. Carolla did not receive his high school diploma until years later when the school held it until a library fine was paid. In an episode of his 2005 television series The Adam Carolla Project, Carolla can be seen paying off the book and receiving his diploma.

Carolla played Pop Warner football for seven years as a kid, and he later said being involved in sports saved him from a chaotic home life. Carolla earned his nickname in football during his senior year at North Hollywood High School. He was voted to the First Team Offensive Line, Central Valley League, one of eight leagues at the time in the California Interscholastic Federation's North Valley Division in December 1981. He spoke about being recruited by "7 or 8" schools including UC-Davis, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in October 2020.

At the age of 18, he began living on his own. He attended Los Angeles Valley College, a community college, where he was on academic probation before going back to work in a variety of industries, including carpet cleaner, carpenter, and traffic school instructor. Carolla, his family, and roommates had a 1963 Cadillac limousine when they were broke.

Carolla studied improvisational comedy with The Groundlings in the early 1990s and was a member of the ACME Comedy Theatre Company.

Personal life

Carolla married Lynette Paradise on September 28, 2002. Natalia and Santino "Sonny" Carolla's twins were born on June 7, 2006. Carolla and Lynette were divorcing after 19 years, according to a May 2021 report. He now lives in La Caada, California.

"I own about two-thirds of it, but I've never seen a single penny," Carolla said of Amalfi, an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles.

Carolla won the 2013 Pro/Celebrity Race as a veteran and the 2012 Pro/Celebrity Race at Long Beach as an amateur. The 2012 marathon was held on April 14, 2012, and was shown on Speed TV. Carolla has competed in the 2010 and 2003 races. Despite being regarded as a pre-race favorite, he came in ninth out of 19 racers (fifth among the top ten celebrities) in 2010. He also owns more than 20 cars. Several Lamborghinis from the 1960s to early 1970s, including two Miuras (one of 764 examples ever built), as well as a 1965 350GT (one of 135 built). The set includes at least one Ferrari and Aston Martin, as well as several vintage race cars.

The man who once penned entire albums to the Almighty, who straddled genius and tragedy producing thoughtful art, is now so fallen into the chasm of depravity that there seems no way back. This vagrant venture into the world of adult entertainment is already underway, reportedly a joint effort with the former Mr. Stormy Daniels, a jiggle-flick producer named Mike Moz. It's all dirty double standards because West has vacillated in the past on the sins of online smut: once blaming the collapse of his marriage and family on a supposed addiction to the filth. But it'll take more than a little horny hypocrisy to stun his few remaining and entirely unshockable fans into apoplexy.
