Education
Zaky began learning computer and programming skills in 1997, through books on coding and a computer given by his uncle. He represented his school at the National Science Olympiad in computer science and won the competition while attending high school at Public High School 1 in Solo.
Zaky obtained his diploma in informatics engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

Career
While attending the ITB, Zaky began working in electronics and entrepreneurship. He was offered a contract to develop a quick count software for a television station that was covering the national election at the time, valued at IDR 1.5 million. He also attempted to develop a noodle making firm, but it was unsuccessful. Following his education, Zaky formed Suitmedia, a technology consulting firm.
In 2010, Zaky established Bukalapak. He received the Satya Wira Karya award from President Joko Wido in July for his outstanding contributions to Indonesia. In 2017, he was also named EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the Technology & Digital Award category. Bukalapak was the company's CEO before Zaky resigned in January 2020.
Following his departure, he started a new venture with Bukalapak's former chief technology officer, Nugroho Herucahyono, who left the firm as well. The two partners founded Init6, a venture fund that helps early-stage startups.
