Abigail Suzanne Martin (born September 6, 1984) is an American journalist and television presenter. On the Russian network RT America from 2012 to 2015. She hosted Breaking the Set.

Martin released The Empire Files, an investigative documentary and interview series that was originally hosted by Telesur in 2015.

Martin began her work in journalism and became an active participant of the 9/11 Truth movement, which she later condemned.

Early life

Martin grew up in Pleasanton, California, where she attended Amador Valley High School, graduating in 2002. After the September 11 attacks in 2001, she became interested in journalism after her old high school boyfriend enlisted in the military. "I didn't want him going to war, let alone fighting in one," she recalls. "What really going on?" says the author. By the time she was a sophomore at San Diego State University, she began asking if she was "selling" the Iraq war by the media. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science and minored in Spanish.

In 2004, she ran for John Kerry's presidential campaign but became disillusioned with the left-right ideology, which claims that societies have a tendency to divide themselves into ideological categories. Martin worked for a brief time as an investigative reporter for a San Diego-based online news paper before returning to Northern California.

Personal life

Martin enjoys drawing, photographing, and making collages. Politics, physics, and psychedelia are among her themes. Her works have been seen several times around California. Art, she says, is a "way to interpret the ugly truths in the world and envision a happier future."

Martin is married to her Empire Files co-producer Mike Prysner, a Iraq War veteran. They have one child, who was born on May 31, 2020.
