Bastian is having trouble being back in the real world after saving Fantasia. Looking for comfort, he picks up his book and hears Fantasia's ruler asking for his help against the evil sorceress named Xayide.

The movie is based off the second part of the novel of the same name by Michael Ende. Thomas Hill is the only actor to reprise his role from the original movie.
