A police officer who sent sexualized texts to a vulnerable woman who was on patrol has been sentenced to prison for a crime. According to the police watchdog, Thomas Hill, a student from Deal Kent, exploited his position to have the inappropriate sexual relationship with the woman after the pair met while supervising in a hospital. The woman was arrested for an offence in December 2020 and was asked to supervise her while she was being handled at the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate. According to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), the 35-year-old, who had previously confessed to misconduct in public office, was sentenced to eight months in jail at London's Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday.
