A newly-divorced woman named Emma moved to Arizona with hopes of making a living by training and boarding horses along with her son Jake. While living there, the single mother is struggling to make ends meet however she meets a man name Murphy, who helps them out financially and emotionally. As everything begins to work out, an unexpected visitor will change everything.

Actor James Garner received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) during the Golden Globes award ceremony in 1986.
