Rock band that was ranked #14 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. They won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1995 for "Black Hole Sun." 

Trivia

Their fourth album, Superunknown (1994), reached #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The band went on hiatus from 1997 to 2010.
