A pair of Australian teens go out of their way to find acceptance with the cool surfing crowd. The coming-of-age story takes place in Sydney's Sutherland Shire. It is based on Kathy Lette and Gabrielle Carey's 1979 book of the same name.

The series ran for a total of seventeen episodes over the course of its two year run. It received positive reviews from The Sydney Morning Herald.
