Ziynet Sali Safter (born April 29, 1975) is a Turkish Cypriot singer.

Her latest works feature pop elements, though her earlier works featured rebetiko and classical Turkish music themes. Sali was born in Nicosia and then migrated to England with her family, where she obtained British citizenship.

She returned to Cyprus in 1981 and completed her education until a high school degree was earned there.

She travelled to Istanbul in 1994 to study, and she graduated from the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory in 1999.

While studying, she began to perform as a professional vocalist.

Sali made her debut in 2000 with her first studio album, which features sole Turkish songs.

Amman Kuzum, her second studio album that was released by Zorba Müzik in 2004, also had Greek songs on it.

Chiculata+1 (Amman Kuzum), a new Amman Kuzum version that also includes "Chiculata") was released by the same record label in 2005, and Ozan Video's third studio album Mor Yillar was released next year. After the debut of her third studio album, Herkes Evine, by DMC in 2008, Bizde Böyle + Herkes Evine, a new version of the same album that also included "Bizde Böyle" was announced by DMC.

Rattle (Rüya), her first non-album single, debuted in 2010 and became Turkey's first hit the first position on Turkish music charts.

She continued to work with DMC and released "Bize Yeter" (2010) and Collection, her first compilation album.

GNL Entertainment released Sonsuz Ol and Sonsuz Ol + Remixes, her fifth studio album, as well as remixes of some of her old songs, on June 23.

Early life

On April 29, 1975 in Nicosia, which was the capital of Turkish Federated State of Cyprus at that time, Ziynet Sali Safter was born as one of three children of a Turkish Cypriot family. After meeting Sali's mother during her visits to Cyprus in 1963, her father, who had migrated from Cyprus in 1963, returned to Cyprus permanently. Sali's family moved to Manchester after Sali's birth. Sali obtained British citizenship at the time. She graduated from Polatpaşa High School in Lysi after finishing her primary and secondary education in Cyprus following their return to the country. She became one of the classical Turkish music choir of the Ministry of National Education and Culture after her graduation. She moved to Istanbul in 1994 to study in the Istanbul Technical University's Turkish Music State Conservatory. Sali began performing while reading, and she graduated from the conservatory in 1999.

Personal life

Sali has two brothers. She lives in an apartment in Gayrettepe, Istanbul. She bought a villa in Atalköy in 2005 and an apartment in Dereboyu, North Nicosia, in 2006. Sali married Erkan Erzurumlu at Merit Royal Hotel in Northern Cyprus on September 15, 2019.

Career

She began to perform in various entertainment venues after graduating as a music instructor and being unable to find a job. She began working as a secretary in Dost Müzik in 1999, then became a press consultant. She made her debut in 2000 with her first studio album Ba-Ba, which was released by Dost Müzik. "Ba-Ba," the album's lead song, was turned into a music video. Following this work, she began to study Greek music and perform Greek language songs in her live performances. Zorba Müzik's second studio album with Turkish and Greek pop songs Amman Kuzum was released in September 2004. "Yürek Yaral Büyüyor" and "Amman Kuzum" were two songs from the album, along with music videos. Zorba Music's Chiculata+1 released a new version of the album that contained remixed versions of the songs and a new song "Chiculata" in 2005. (Amman Kuzum).

Her third studio album, which was released by Ozan Video in September 2006, featured Greek and Turkish language songs. "Zordur Olum" and "Mor Yllar" were two music videos that were made.
