Zara Phillips

Mike Tindall enjoyed a final weekend away before he married Zara Phillips in 2011, but the Royal Family let him know they had read all about it.  The former England rugby player's antics during his stag do in Florida hit the news after he was seen horsing around with his friends and racked up a jaw-dropping bar bill. When Mike, who turns 46 years old today, returned home members of his fiancée's family commented on his fun, he previously revealed on JOE UK's House of Rugby. 

As a universally famous princess who is mother to the future King, Kate Middleton has more than a little bit in common with the late Princess Diana. Kate, the first Princess of Wales since the tragic death of Diana in 1997, has strived to emulate her late mother-in-law's passionate work for charitable causes. And another shared trait is their love for their children and other youngsters, as videos filmed decades apart reveal. In a clip from 1984, Princess Diana can be seen holding her youngest son Prince Harry during his christening party at Windsor Castle. Diana is seen trying to beckon over her three-year-old niece Zara Phillips. She shouts, 'Zara!', and asks someone nearby, 'can you get Zara?', before saying her name again as she beckons her over with her hand. Three decades later, Prince William and Kate brought Prince George and Princes Charlotte on their royal tour of Canada. At a party for military families, Kate was filmed petting a dog. The clip shows her turning around and calling out: 'Look Charlotte, Charlotte look,' to try and get her daughter's attention.

Zara Phillips shares her mother's love of horses. She won a silver medal in the three-day equestrian event at the 2012 London Olympics, riding 11-year-old High Kingdom (left, on High Kingdom in 2018). King George V kept a parrot named Charlotte (inset top, with Princess Elizabeth) who would even eat at the dinner table. King Charles loved his Jack Russell Tigga, who died in 2002 aged 18. Queen Elizabeth (pictured right with one of her corgis at Balmoral in 1952) kept corgis for most of her life and was first introduced to the breed when her father bought the Princess and her younger sister Princess Margaret a Pembrokeshire Welsh Corgi named Dookie when she was seven
