MATT BARLOW: Tottenham supporters have been waiting for a first proper sighting of Mikey Moore in senior action. They will have heard the murmur of excitement about the young winger as he was accelerated through the youth ranks. They might have caught some of the goals he scored for the academy teams clipped on social media or glimpsed his first few fleeting appearances from the bench since his debut against Manchester City in May.
James Maddison and Bruno Fernandes are easy choices in our Man United vs Tottenham COMBINED XI - but which big-money striker gets the nod up front and who lines up on the wings?

This year neither team has a clear advantage over the other, but a run of disappointing results for Manchester United may give Tottenham confidence. Erik ten Hag and Ange Postecoglou are both under pressure to deliver a good result, having recently lost to their arch rivals Liverpool and Arsenal respectively. Ahead of the Red Devils' showdown with Spurs at Old Trafford today, Mail Sport has selected a combined XI made up of players from both clubs. Only players who are fit to play have been included. As a result, the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw do not feature.

The Spurs skipper came off with 20 minutes to go for Timo Werner having had medical attention, moments after his shot was parried into Dominic Solanke for the side's third goal. Tottenham face Manchester United on Sunday and with Richarlison and Wilson Odobert already out, Postecoglou does not need another body on the treatment table.
As Ange Postecoglou feels the heat at Tottenham, SAMI MOKBEL reveals what the dressing room mood is REALLY like, what's changing to fix their big set-piece problem - and why two key summer transfers fell through

Ange Postecoglou spent his summer holidaying in the sweltering Greek islands where temperatures can reach 86 degrees. Back in north London, as autumn approaches and the air starts to cool, Postecoglou continues to feel the heat. Four points from their opening four Premier League matches has made for an indifferent start for a Tottenham side that last season looked like they may challenge for the title.
Fans tracking private planes, agents fuelling the rumour mill and pointless hour-by-hour updates: Inside the mad world of the football transfer window

LEWIS STEELE: There was a bit of a quirk for 2024 standards earlier this month when Tottenham signed winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley as it was largely kept under wraps. In this social-media age, transfers are trailed for weeks, months and, in the case of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid , even years in advance. Hourly, often pointless updates are offered on potential deals - and Big Six clubs are loosely linked with tens of players each summer.
Why we should expect Tottenham to shine as Ange Ball enters Phase Two, writes MATT BARLOW

MATT BARLOW: When Howard Wilkinson led Sheffield Wednesday up into the top-flight the established elite were rattled by the speed and relentlessness of his team. They were robust and direct. And, when the ball went dead, Wilkinson's players were drilled to react in pairs. One, usually the one nearest the ball, would sprint to retrieve it and throw it to the other, who would have dashed to the spot required to restart the game in the blink of an eye with the rest of the team attuned to plan.

Scott Parker's perfect start! Burnley thrash Luton 4-1 in superb away display in Championship opener as Clarets leave Man United target Sander Berge at home

JON WEST: Scott Parker's first match as Burnley manager was one to savour as fellow Premier League cast-offs Luton were well beaten on their own turf last night. Goals from Josh Brownhill, Wilson Odobert, Dara O'Shea and Vitinho ensured it was a satisfying debut for Vincent Kompany's replacement in the dugout. Luton have not beaten Burnley for 24 years and Rob Edwards' side only briefly looked like stopping that run when Tahith Chong made it 2-1 early in the second half.
Man United dished out the most gametime to teenagers in the Premier League last season... while one side only gave youth stars SEVEN minutes to feature - but where does YOUR club rank in giving youngsters a chance?
www.dailymail.co.uk,

With the news of 16-year-old Chido Obi-Martin moving to Manchester United, it has become clear that some clubs are becoming more attractive to youngsters due to their willingness to play younger players and trust them in big opportunities.
Burnley 2-2 Fulham: David Datro Fofana, a supersub, caps off a spectacular comeback for Vincent Kompany's struggling players as late brace cancels out first-half goals from Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz, as the late brace cancels out the first half goals from Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz, a dramatic point

JOE BERNSTEIN AT CRAVEN COTTAGE: Fulham seemed to be cruising after Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz scored within 21 minutes. But Vincent Kompany played his trump card by inserting Fofana midway through the second half of the Premier League, and he scored his first Premier League goal seven minutes later, giving Burnley a lifeline. Wilson Odobert's cross was converted after 91 minutes, and he blew Turf Moor off the roof. Although Vincent Kompany's men are still seven points behind the safety mark, the fighting spirit they displayed will give him hope. Burnley knew they had to do something in their relegation fight with this match sandwiched between trips to Manchester City and Liverpool.

Rebecca Welch, the first woman to officiate a Premier League match, received top marks from Piers Morgan. Burnley's 2-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, the 40-year-old chief put her name into history by becoming the first woman to serve as the fourth official at a Premier League match in November. Welch's international fame as one of the best officials in both the men and women's game was only bolstered by her appearance in the middle as Wilson Odobert and Sander Berge's goals gave Vincent Kompany's side a crucial away victory.

After a one-two with Lyle Foster, Wilson Odobert earned a chic finish in the top corner. Sander Berge, the nepher, drilled his strike beyond Bernd Leno. Burnley's Burnley, a Vincent Kompany side, is no longer championing the Premier League table.
Brighton aren't a top squad, and he is not a top coach, according to Roberto de Zerbi, as Seagulls' inconsistency against Burnley continues

ADRIAN KAJUMBA GOOGIE AT THE AMERICAN EXPRESS STADIUM: Brighton only had Simon Adingra's late equalizer to show for their domination, after a string of squandered hopes and Trafford's saves left them tied for one point. Wilson Odobert fired Burnley ahead after losing eye-catching winger Luca Koleosho to a long-term knee injury, his replacement, and another 'little gem'. Brighton was finally leveled up with 13 minutes remaining. They had 29 attempts and 71% possession in total.

ADRIAN KAJUMBA AT THE AMEX: Simon Adingra came to Brighton's rescue, bringing them a point against Burnley and keeping their incredible scoring streak going. Burnley's Burnley had just about held Brighton at bay as the clock ticked toward full time, leading to Wilson Odobert's first-half assault. However, Brighton's incessant pressure paid off with only 13 minutes remaining when Adingra nodded in the Seagulls leveller.
During this international break, Man United's stars will fly almost 100,000 miles, but Nottingham Forest's players will go even further! How far each Premier League squad will travel during this break
www.dailymail.co.uk,
September 8, 2023
The first international break of the new season is here, but Premier League players will not be given any time for rest and relaxation as they represent their respective nations. Any English top-flight player is residing in the United Kingdom, and the air miles are racking up for people traveling around the world to compete in international tournaments. When the Premier League returns, players will be able to travel for shorter trips abroad for European Championship qualifiers against Ukraine and Scotland, but others will have to face long-haul flights that could cause wreak havoc on their body clocks.
