William O. DeWitt Jr. (born August 31, 1941) is an American businessman and currently the managing partner and chairman of the St. Louis Cardinals, a professional baseball franchise that competes in Major League Baseball (MLB).
During DeWitt's time as owner, the Cardinals have won two World Series – in 2006 and 2011.
DeWitt has also invested in the Cincinnati Stingers hockey team, Baltimore Orioles, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Texas Rangers in addition to the Cardinals.

Early life
DeWitt, the son of longtime Major League Baseball executive Bill DeWitt and Margaret H. DeWitt, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended St. Louis Country Day School. He was around baseball as a kid; his father owned the St. Louis Browns and Cincinnati Reds; and DeWitt served as a Browns batboy. Eddie Gaedel, the little guy, appeared as a pinch hitter at a Browns game on August 19, 1951, wearing DeWitt's jersey to the plate. In 1963, he earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1965.
Early business ventures (1974–95)
In 1974, Dewitt joined Gradison & Co., a Cincinnati investment firm. Reynolds, DeWitt & Co., and Mercer Reynolds founded the investment company Reynolds, DeWitt & Co. in 1979. The company owns 63 Arby's franchises, whose worth has been estimated at $50.4 million, and is an investor in Cincinnati, a United States firm. Playing Card Company, with an estimated value of $120 million. Newport Aquarium, Kentucky, also has a $40 million interest. DeWitt Capital Group, a private equity company established in 2012, is also affiliated with DeWitt Capital Group, a DeWitt Capital Group company. DeWitt has been a member of the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles.
Spectrum 7, one of DeWitt's company ventures, purchased George W. Bush's Arbusto Energy in 1984 and, in turn, joined Harken Energy in 1986. DeWitt and Bush gathered investors to buy the team when Eddie Chiles was ready to sell the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.
DeWitt has also worked with the Cincinnati Bengals and the former Cincinnati Stingers of the World Hockey Association.
