When vinyl first appeared on the charts in 1992, Whitney Houston was at the top of the charts with I Will Always Love You. However, it has returned to the official basket thanks in large part to Ms Swift's 2023 debut of a new version of her album 1989. Last year, it was the best-selling LP on vinyl. In the 1990s, millions of people turned away from LPs in favour of CDs, and, in turn, iPods and then subscription services such as Spotify replaced them. However, a hipster-generated vinyl revival has seen the return of record players and record stores.
