Charlotte Kates, a major figure in the pro-Palestine movement in colleges for over two decades, has been a constant presence at anti-Israel encampment at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The New Jersey native is the international coordinator of Samidoun Prisoners Solidarity Network, a group with ties to the PFLP that is listed in Israel as a terror group and banned in Germany as such. Kates was seen on Friday in Vancouver praising the terrorist attack by Hamas, which left 1,700 Israelis dead and sparked the war in Gaza, where 30,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed. 'We say today, long live October 7!' Kates yelled outside the Vancouver Art Gallery, calling the attack a show of 'beautiful, brave and heroic resistance of the Palestinian people.' 'We stand with the Palestinian resistance and their heroic and brave action on October 7,' she said. 'Long live October 7.' Kates went on defending terror groups, adding: 'It is long past time to delist Palestinian and Lebanese resistance organizations from Canada's so-called list of terrorist entities. 'Hamas is not a terrorist organization. Islamic Jihad is not a terrorist organization. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is not a terrorist organization. On Thursday, the reporter, David Volodzko, was released after standing up for the tyrant German dictatorship, arguing that he "on ly attacked people he personally felt were unfair to society." Volodzko will no longer be a member of the Times' editorial board 'effective immediately,' the Seattle Times released a statement thanking the former employee and announcing that Volodzko would no longer be a member of the Times' editorial board.' The article said, 'A Seattle Times editorial writer took to Twitter recently in a manner that is in conflict with our company values and those of our extended families.' The outlet did not specify the reason for the dismissal, but stressed the company's importance in differing viewpoints as long as they were treated with respect. 'We strongly believe in fostering lively discourse from a variety of viewpoints, but we do so with reverence and admiration for all cultures,' the note continued. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, he would not attend Mikhail Gorbachev's funeral on Saturday because of his 'work commitments,' rather than his. It comes after Putin was seen on Russian state television bowing his head after laying a bouquet of red roses near Gorbachev's open casket (main) at the hospital where he died on Tuesday at the age of 91. He paused for a moment of silence, bowed his head, briefly laid his hand on the casket, and then gave a sign of the cross. The Moscow Hall of Columns will host Gorbachev's funeral service on Saturday. It has been used for funeral services of high executives, including Joseph Stalin in 1953. Gorbachev will be buried in Moscow next to his wife Raisa, who died in 1999.
