Vishal Sikka (born May, 1967) is the founder and CEO of Vianai, a San Francisco Bay startup that provides advanced technological intelligence and Machine Learning to Fortune Companies around the world.

Early life and career
Sikka was born in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, India, to Punjabi parents - an officer in the Indian Railways and a tutor. When he was six years old, his family moved to Vadodara, Gujarat. He began his education in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajkot, and then at Rosary High School in Rosary, Portugal (Vadodara). Sikka completed his bachelor's in Computer Engineering at Maharaja Sayajira University of Baroda, but he left to Syracuse University in New York where he obtained a B.S. Computer Science is a branch of mathematics. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Stanford University in 1996. Michael Genesereth, his thesis advisor, was entitled Integrating Specialized Procedures into Proof Systems.
Marvin Minsky, one of AI's founding fathers, wrote a recommendation letter to Sikka for his admission to Stanford. One of Sikka's teachers, John McCarthy, who is also known as a father of AI.
Sikka formed iBrain, which was competing at the time with Business Objects, after a short stint at Xerox's research labs. PatternRX, Inc. acquired iBrain, Inc.'s second startup, Bodha.com, concentrated on providing technologies for non-invasive, service-based integration of enterprise applications and data.
