Early life
Born in Havana, Cuba, Guerra, where she and her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. She appeared in fashion shows modeling swimwear as a young girl and has appeared in music videos.
Personal life
Guerra is a vegetarian. "I feel really good, and it does so many things, including the appearance of my skin," she said of vegetarianism. In 2011, she came to nude in a PETA protest in favour of vegetarianism.
Career
Guerra's first national exposure came when she appeared in a lingerie parade for FHM in December 2002. Following its publication, the magazine revealed that almost one third of the submitted mail came from readers demanding more photos of her. In 2004, she returned to more photo shoots and was named "FHM Model of the Year" once more. Since then, she has appeared in a number of publications, including DUB, Smooth, Escape, and Open Your Eyes, many as the cover girl.
Guerra has appeared on several Spanish language television shows, including entertainment gossip show El Gordo y la Flaca (The Fat guy and the Skinny girl). In addition, she has starred in "Obsession (No Es Amor)" (Kanye West, 2005) and "The New Workout Plan" (Megae West, 2004), and "Shake Ya Tailfeather" (Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee from the Bad Boys II soundtrack, 2003) (Kanye West, 2005) (Frankie J starring Baby Bash, 2005) (Frankie J). In addition,, Guerra has appeared in a commercial for Burger King's TenderCrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch, a few sketches on Chappelle's Show (including "R. Guerra's camera phone was reportedly hacked in April 2005. Hundreds of photographs, including nude photographs, were widely disseminated on the internet. Guerra said the nude photos were of another woman and that they had been mixed with genuine, non-nude camera-phone photos of her to give the appearance that she was the naked woman pictured.
Guerra was ranked number 26 in "FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Females" of 2005, and she has twice been named the recipient of the magazine's "Best Butt Award." She has produced her own swimsuit calendars (along with accompanying "behind the scenes" DVDs), as well as a 2006 DVD titled Vida Guerra: Exposed.
The first official nude photos of Guerra were included in the July 2006 issue of Playboy. Part of her inspiration for posing for the magazine was the camera phone incident; she wanted to see what she really looked like naked.
On November 2, 2006, Guerra's first song, "You Got Me," was leaked to the Internet.
