The last time he lined up for club side United, however, was May 2023, the last game of the Premier League season meaning he missed he entirety of last season. Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is already without left-back duo Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw, while £52million summer recruit Leny Yoro is out with a fractured metatarsal. But it appears the casualty ward at Carrington has claimed its latest member in Lindelof.
Erik ten Hag warns Man United are NOT ready for the new Premier League campaign ahead of Fulham opener - as he insists they must 'deal with it' after the club's 'complicated' pre-season

NATHAN SALT: Ten Hag (inset) made the staggering admission ahead of facing Fulham, but warned his players that they cannot hide from the spotlight. 'The team is not ready,' Ten Hag conceded. 'But the league starts. We can't hide from it. We have to deal with it.' Many of Ten Hag's squad went deep in the Copa America and at Euro 2024 and missed most, if not all, of the pre-season tour of the United States. It means he has had just a handful of training sessions with the squad all together which has given him cause for concern.

The Holland defender was Ten Hag's first signing as United manager following a £14.7million move from Feyenoord two years ago, and made 39 appearances in his first season at Old Trafford. However, Malacia didn't play at all last season due to a double knee surgery, leaving United desperately short at left-back during Luke Shaw's long absences through injury.

Both the unnamed friend and Malacia were sent to hospital as a precaution but they were cleared to leave by doctors after avoiding injury. It is believed Rashford was not directly impacted by the smash. A 55-year-old woman, believed to have been behind the wheel of the Mercedes involved in the incident, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Erik ten Hag comes out swinging in sensational FA Cup final day interview as he blasts Man United fans with 'no sense of reality' and slams pundits who attack him 'to make themselves look better'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
May 25, 2024
Erik ten Hag has hit out at Manchester United fans for having 'no sense of reality' amid their 11-year title drought in an incendiary interview on the day of the club's FA Cup final against Manchester City. The embattled manager is believed to be heading for the exit at Old Trafford regardless of whether his side triumphs at Wembley on Saturday against their crosstown rivals after two season in charge at the Manchester club. Ten Hag has been defiant in his stance that he remains in the plans of Man United's new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team since the petrochemicals billionaire took over the running of football operations in February.
Erik ten Hag came out fighting this week... but it's time Man United did their talking on the pitch. Anything other than victory against basement boys Sheffield United will have his job hanging by a thread
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 24, 2024
Erik ten Hag (left) strode into the Jimmy Murphy Centre at Carrington yesterday ready to hit back. The assembled media didn't know it yet; Ten Hag is typically calm and measured in his responses. On Tuesday, irked by what he saw as an overreaction to their penalty shootout win over Coventry City (top right), he wanted to come out swinging. Asked with the opening question if he understood the reaction, the criticism, that came with coughing up a 3-0 lead to scrape by second tier Coventry City on penalties at Wembley, the United boss said: 'Absolutely not.' Ineos and United's new football operations team led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe (bottom right) are not so reactionary as to make emotional decisions based on one game. Should United hammer Sheffield United on Wednesday, it is unlikely to move the needle too much in the other direction.
Man United need a summer shake-up to refresh a squad that is miles off competing for the top prizes with EIGHTEEN players - and under-fire Erik ten Hag - on the chopping block
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 22, 2024
Manchester United's penalty shootout FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City brought more questions than answers - both in terms of Erik ten Hag and his players. This has been a season riddled by mistakes on and off the pitch for United and with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos team now assuming control of football operations, a summer shake-up feels inevitable. United are looking to raise £100million through player sales and for some shown the door that will mean accepting a sizeable loss on their initial transfer outlay. Mail Sport runs through Manchester United's squad to work out who stays and who goes.
Why Man United defender Tyrell Malacia has gone missing: The defender hasn't been seen since playing for Holland last JUNE 'following his decision to go against club's suggestion'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 11, 2024
Tyrell Malacia is not expected to play for Manchester United until next season as the Dutch left-back struggles with a knee meniscus injury. Erik ten Hag has been left short-staffed in that position with both Malacia and first-choice Luke Shaw on the sidelines for large chunks of the campaign. Malacia, 24, hasn't played a single minute this season with the £13million defender's last action coming for the Netherlands against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League semi-final last June.

Erik ten Hag claims that his second season at Manchester United would have been much different if he hadn't been plagued by injuries. After struggling to build on a third-place finish and Carabao Cup triumph last season, the Dutchman is fighting to keep his job into the summer. Ten Hag believes that injuries to key players have made it impossible to maintain this momentum, with ten men ruled out of Saturday's match against Everton at Old Trafford.

Since suffering a metatarsal injury in April, the Argentine center back - one of Erik ten Hag's best signings at Old Trafford - has been sidelined for the majority of the year. Martinez played five Premier League games for Man United this season before aggravated the injury for the second time in September.

Sir Dave Brailsford has only been covering Manchester United's scenes for the past few weeks, but Ineos sports director Adam Wood has admitted to the club's overstaffing. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been on the ground at Old Trafford and Carrington, during the £1.3 billion investment, and the former British Cycling champion is already identifying areas where savings can be made and the club can be more streamlined. Ratcliffe is expected to appoint an external auditor to examine United's spending and structure, which may put some of the 1,100 employees under scrutiny.

After leaving the upmarket Juniper Restaurant in Wilmslow, the England footballer, 26, was seen pulling the ticket off his windscreen yesterday. While his car was parked on double yellow lines, Rashford had lunch with his United teammate Tyrell Malacia, about an hour. With the fine, a traffic warden appeared after about 15 minutes and slapped the McLaren 765 Long Tail vehicle, which costs £280,000 new. It comes after a video of Rashford barely avoiding a parking fine went viral on social media at the end of last year.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co's debut in January as the under-fire Man United bosses must impress his new bosses as he arrives at Old Trafford, but there is no budget to invest on new players as he tries to prevent a dismal season
www.dailymail.co.uk,
January 2, 2024
Erik ten Hag enjoyed a family meal on New Year's Eve, but the Manchester United chief would not have been dissatisfied to see the back of 2023. Although the first half of the year was a blast, with a victory in the Carabao Cup and a third-place finish, the Dutch coach's last few months have undid United's progress under new leadership. United have already lost nine Premier League games this season, including those of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup. Ten Hag is under intense scrutiny in 2024, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival only adding to the confusion over the club's future. January may be a light on fixtures, but Ten Hag's September is expected to be a pivotal month for the club, if he makes it or becomes the new boss.

They'll also have to tackle emotional barriers because their arch-rivals' house has become a place of nightmares in recent years. The reports come at a time when United's first-team has been crippled by a string of key injuries.

Malacia's last game for United was on the last day of last season, and he hasn't played at all this season after missing the club's summer tour of the United States.
