When it came to spilling the deets on how to become the hostess with the mostess, event planner Rebecca Gardner's opinion on the 'shoe or no shoe' debate broke the internet. 'Please don't ask people to take off their shoes when entering your apartment. It's rude,' said Gardner.

After the National League team made FA Cup history at Swindon, Aldershot boss Tommy Widdrington was in a state of disbelief last night. The Shots were in dreamland, going 7-0 up in under an hour, and Widdrington said, 'That was barmy, unreal.' Within a minute, Aldershot was in front, adding his second two minutes later, and the goals didn't stop coming.

LEWIS STEELE: Earlier this year, Leicester, the former champions of the FA Cup, arrived in Gillingham for a cold January lunchtime. That day, Kent's only Football League club welcomed a full house, and although the Foxes may have mistook them for VIP guests, another celebrity attraction was added. Brad Galinson, a Florida-based real estate mogul, did a lap of the stadium with his wife and sons right before the players took the field at Priestfield for the 27th years of turbulent stewardship under Paul Scally.

HENRY CLARK: Gillingham's Alfie May and Shrewsbury's Aiden O'Brien are looking at an unusual Deadline Day for the team. The Gills currently sit second in second place in the Football League, but things seem to be on the upswing under new owner Brad Galinson, who took over the team last month. As the club continues to avoid injury, the American businessman has already managed moves for eight new players in January, including Crawley's Tom Nichols and Exeter's Timothee Dieng.
FOOTBALL LEAGUE FOCUS: Basket-case Crawley Town in grave danger of relegation
www.dailymail.co.uk,
January 30, 2023
LEWIS STEELE: As the Football League returned from its World Cup hiatus last month, Sportsmail published a column in which each division addressed the promotion and relegation fights. Unlike previous years, League Two does not have a basket-case team,' it read. It's time to rewrite that argument. Crawley Town (pictured): Welcome to the band of basket cases. Macclesfield, Southend, Oldham, Bury, and Scunthorpe fans deserve a bit more. We know the script: a lack of judgement by a charlatan owner and, in the correct direction, a team that is ineffective enough to stay in the Football League. In a revealing chat with Sportsmail, owner Preston Johnson, the maker of a cryptocurrency sports company, says, 'It's been a tough first year.' We were thrown into the deep end and have been trying to learn to swim on the fly for the first time ever.' Crawley is flopping against the tide without a life raft and is in danger of sinking.
SACK chief Matthew Etherington after 34 days as boss of Crawley's 'crypto bros' Sackbrokers.'

After only 34 days and three matches in charge of the club, Crawley Town's owners (co-owner Preston Johnson pictured, right) have bizarrely dismissed boss Matthew Etherington (left). The firing news broke on Thursday, a day after Crawley sold star striker Tom Nichols (inset) to Gillingham in the face of backlash from striker Kwesi Appiah (bottom right), and shortly after the entire team was 'accidentally' placed on the transfer list amid widespread confusion. The step brings into question WAGMI United's leadership, the company's burgeoning cryptocurrency investment group that took over the club in April. "It has become abundantly apparent to all interested parties that this alliance is not the right one to lead the club and achieve our goals," the team's interim CEO Chris Galley said. As a result, we have collectively decided to go in a new direction. We wish Matty and Simon well in their future endeavours.'
What hell probably looks like! After giving passengers ukulele's, Southwest has been mocked

On a Southwest Airlines flight from Long Beach to Honolulu, the world's first ukulele lesson took place at 30,000 feet last Friday. On social media, the class was unfortunately not warmly welcomed, with one user even suggesting that a war crimes trial be suitable for whoever approved the practice of giving out free ukuleles to passengers. The initiative was a joint venture between Southwest and instrument store Guitar Center. It was the 'first ever in-flight ukulele lesson,' according to the organizers. The passengers were taught how to say 'Hello, Aloha.' How are you?' In its entirety, the entire story. The flight time between Long Beach and Honolulu is five hours and fifty minutes. The lesson was carried out by 175 passengers. On Twitter, the prospect of being on the flight was enough to spark a firestorm. Tom Nichols of the Atlantic wrote: "I am a huge fan of Southwest but this might have made me homicidal."

Since claiming that his protective head cover made him look like he was a child, the striker's Wolves teammates gave him the nickname 'The Pirate'. Jimenez had intended the eye patch for a goal that he scored in pre-season, but the addition of the hook was a step forward. In their first three Premier League games, the Wanderers have scored just one goal, and fans will be hoping to see Jimenez's birthday a lot more often throughout the season.
Fulham 2-0 Crawley: The Premier League Cottagers have been voted out of the Carabao Cup by the Crawley Cottagers

LEWIS STEELE AT BROADFIELD STADIUM: As the League Two team stunned top-flight Fulham by closing a gap of 84 league positions, Crawley Town delivered the shock of the round. Tom Nichols and 18-year-old Liverpool loanee James Balagizi fired Kevin Betsy's side to their first victory of the season against the heavily rotated Cottagers in either half. Betsy, who took his first managerial role after coaching England's youth teams and Arsenal Under 23s, had been thrown out of fire.
