The Athletics bid farewell to Oakland in an emotional 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers on Thursday at the Coliseum, where one fan celebrated a remarkable milestone. The unidentified man in green Oakland A's gear was seen in the stands behind home plate with his back to the field and holding a handmade sign. 'I was here for the 1st pitch in 1968!' the message began. 'I'm here for the last pitch in 2024!' Not every fan in Oakland on Thursday was feeling so sentimental. One person ran onto the field in the top of the ninth, delaying the inevitable final out for several minutes before security took care of business.

Snake Catchers Brisbane and Gold Coast's Mr Lockett gathered the massive python and relocated it to a place where it could enjoy its meal in tranquility.

On Monday, the Gold Coast resident noticed the 2.8-meter carpet python hanging from her roof and urged Hudson's Snake Removers to coax the beast out. Tim Hudson (pictured) tried to snake out over the course of an hour, but was eventually forced to remove a portion of the roof to reach the reptile.

Four years ago, John Lennon said there was nothing he could do to stop the Vietnam War, four years before his infamous 'bed-in for peace' demonstration, which has resurfaced 57 years later. On August 15, 1965, the singer made the glum remark as the Beatles brace for their historic appearance at Shea Stadium in New York. It's included in 40 minutes of recordings made by British radio artist 'Lord' Tim Hudson, who followed the Fab Four on their American tour. The tapes are now available for purchase, with one of them selling for £3,000 at auction in Merseyside.
