Thuy Le, a beauty salon employee and mother-of-two from Wollongong, says a mystery $60 was transferred to her CBA account, which she later reported to a caller who claimed to have deposited it by mistake, resulting in her life-savings worth $40,000 being stolen by the next day. Ms Le claims she did not have any personal information, passwords, or account numbers and is uncertain as to how the account was drained. As her husband suffers from Parkinson's disease, she and her family's sole breadwinner are now in a crisis financial situation. Despite a similar occurrence involving a Melbourne woman last August, the Commonwealth Bank has so far refused to refund the money.
