After Roe vs Wade's ruling, Kamala Harris names SCOTUS as a "activist court."
www.dailymail.co.uk,
September 9, 2022
Vice President Kamala Harris said the country's highest court now is a 'activist court,' now that they have reversed Roe vs. Wade. Such draconian terms are unusual for a vice president as the Supreme Court struggles to reverst the historic 1973 abortion decision in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization. When asked how much 'confidence' she has in the Supreme Court on NBC's Meet the Press, she said, 'I believe that this is an activist court.' As an extension of what we have deemed "the fundamental right to which all individuals are entitled, we had an established right for almost half a century that is the right of women to make decisions about their own bodies.' Harris continued, 'This court took the fundamental right away.'
Justice Neil Gorsuch says a Supreme Court study on bombshell Dobbs leak 'is hopefully coming soon.'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
September 9, 2022
Justice Neil Gorsuch said he and his fellow justices might learn more about the leak that caused national broadcasting waves around the country ahead of the Supreme Court's decision to reverse Roe v. Wade. According to the Wall Street Journal, Justice Gorsuch told the 10th Circuit Bench and Bar Conference in Colorado Springs that "the chief justice had appointed an internal committee to oversee the probe." That committee has been busily, and we're eager to hear their findings, which I hope will arrive soon.' The Trump-nominated justice did not say if the report would be released or not. The leak has been condemned by justices in general, including Gorsuch, who said that it was designed to sway their decision in the abortion case.
