Derius Davis, the Los Angeles Chargers' rookie wide receiver, was off to a good start against the New York Jets on Monday night. Davis made an amazing 87-yard punt return to start the scoring for the Chargers in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium. The 23-year-old, who migrated to Los Angeles in this year's NFL draft, evaded several Jets players before sprinting to the end zone for his first touchdown.

I hope you won't get a smile from me again.'

Thomas Morstead's mistake was a bizarre coincidence to the majority of the world, or more of the world outside the Dolphins locker room. With the team relegated to his own end zone in the dying stages of a close game against the Bills, leading 21-17, Morstead had little room to make a punt to propel Buffalo back to the playoffs. Morstead, on the other hand, couldn't get enough clearance between himself and the offensive line, punting the ball into special teamer Trent Sherfield's backside. The kicker was arrested and released from bounds for a safety after leaving Sherfield.

Butt Fumble 2: Butt Punt! Bills are paid by the Dolphins, who have forfeited EMBARSSING

Despite one of the most frustrating on-field performances since the New York Jets infamous 'butt fumble' in 2012, the Miami Dolphins won by 21-19 over the visiting Buffalo Bills on Sunday. On a fourth-quarter punt attempt from Miami's end zone, Dolphins punter Thomas Morstead bizarrely kicked the ball off a teammate's backside. On social media, the play was immediately dubbed the "butt punt." The nickname refers to Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez's infamous fumble against the hated New England Patriots in 2012, in which he ran into offensive lineman Brandon Moore's backside. Sanchez mistook the ball, which was recovered by Patriots safety Steve Gregory and returned for a touchdown. Sanchez couldn't help but laugh at the situation on Sunday, perhaps because he wasn't the butt of this joke. Sanchez tweeted, 'Woah, stay out of my lane bro @thomasmorstead.'
