In a Netflix documentary, a Florida hospital has come under fire after the harrowing details of a teen who said she was "held captive" by them in 2016. Maya Kowalski, a teenager, was put into state jail for three months after doctors accused her parents of faking signs of her debilitating complex regional pain syndrome (CPRS). The report revealed that hospital workers called child services twice to falsely accuse Beata of Munchausen by proxy (MSP) - a mental disorder and a form of child violence in which the caretaker of a child, primarily a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it appear that the child is sick.
