In a bid by US regulators, PNC, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and Citizens were among the banks that submitted final bids for First Republic Bank on Sunday. Regulators in the United States have been attempting to clinch the sale of First Republic over the weekend in what is likely to be the third major bank to fail in two months. A settlement for First Republic comes less than two months after Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank failed. On Friday, the bank's shares fell at $3.51, just fraction of the nearly $150 a share it sold for just three months ago.

Following a ruling in a Baltimore courthouse on Monday, Adnan Syed's murder conviction was reversed after he spent 22 years in jail for the murder of his sister Hae Min Lee. Syed's 2000 conviction for the 1999 murder was dismissed following an hours long appeal in Baltimore's Circuit Court.
