Dave Grohl paid tribute to the late Steve Albini at a recent concert with a performance of My Hero. The 55-year-old rocker during a Foo Fighters concert on Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina, addressed the audience before performing the 1998 classic. 'Tonight, I'd like to dedicate this song to a friend that we lost the other day, who I've known for a long, long time. And he left us much too soon,' Grohl said in a fan video posted on YouTube.

Steve Albini, the iconic alternative music pioneer who produced Nirvana's In Utero album, has died at 61. The Italian-American musician and record producer died from a heart attack, his staff at his recording studio, Electric Audio, confirmed. Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana famously hired Albini to produce their third album In Utero in 1993, the last studio album from the band before Cobain shot himself.
