Since being rescued off a cliff in the Amazon, an Australian couple have had an amazing tale of surviving. After the bus skipped over a precipice and turned three times before returning to rest just short of the Amazon River's edge on November 12, Jason and Stephanie Rowe were left homeless in Peru. On Saturday afternoon, the couple arrived at Brisbane Airport with Ms Rowe bursting into tears, saying she was so grateful to be home and would see her friends and family members again.

Authorities say a bus crashed in Peru's northern zone, evicating a 1,000-foot (300-meter) ravine. The accident occurred on the remote, rural PE-12A national highway in the northern Andean province of Corongo, in the north of the country. The Regional Emergency Operations Center for the Ancash Region said rescue efforts were ongoing in the difficult-to-access area, which is roughly 10,000 feet (3,250 meters) above sea level. Since three people died of serious injuries, the death toll increased from 20 to a count of 20 earlier in the day, with six others injured.
