Can Australia secure gold in both the women's and men's 100m freestyle? Mollie O'Callaghan an odds-on favourite - while Kyle Chalmers is a 7/2 second-favourite with Sky Bet

Australia have two major gold medal hopes in the women's and men's 100m freestyle finals tonight - with Mollie O'Callaghan and Kyle Chalmers priced at 8/13 and 7/2 respectively. O'Callaghan has been incredible in her second Olympic campaign - winning gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay before upsetting compatriot Ariarne Titmus in the 200m freestyle final. O'Callaghan qualified third fastest in the semi-finals - behind that of countrywoman Shayna Jack and Hong Kong's Siobhan Haughey. Meanwhile, Chalmers won his semi-final and qualified second fast overall with a time of 47:58. He will undoubtedly need to be quicker in the final if he is to touch the wall first - however - if his final leg in the 4x100m men's freestyle relay final is anything to go by - he most certainly has the ability to do so. Chalmers swam the 100m in 46:59 - 0.21 seconds faster than the world record. It won't be recognised as the new world record however - given it took place in a relay and not in an individual race.

Can Ariarne Titmus become the first swimmer to successfully defend the 200m and 400m freestyle titles at an Olympic Games? She is a 4/6 favourite to win gold in the 200m final - while Mollie O'Callaghan is next at 6/5

Ariarne Titmus is a 4/6 favourite with Sky Bet to win the 200m women's freestyle final tonight and become the first swimmer to successfully defend the 200m and 400m freestyle titles at an Olympics. A Titmus victory in the 200m is far from a forgone conclusion however - as she will have particularly tough opposition in fellow Australian and former world record holder Mollie O'Callaghan. The pair train together in suburban Brisbane - yet they will need to put their close-knit relationship aside as they battle for glory in the ultimate speed-endurance test. O'Callaghan - who is twice the world 100m freestyle champion, and world 200m champion last year - is a boosted 6/5 second-favourite to claim gold.
