The horrific murder of a 33-year-old marketing executive put a spotlight on violence against women and girls, but it also revealed several more 'poor' officers, who were hiding in plain sight and abuse their positions of authority. A woman was assaulted by an officer in the same Met Police unit just 24 hours after the murder cop was sentenced to life in prison, but Couzens came forward to say she had been assaulted. David Carrick, a serving police officer who would go on to plead hundreds of rapes and sexual assaults against 12 people in a 17-year campaign of violence, was the perpetrator she had reported. Depraved Met Police counter terrorism officer Neil Corbel was jailed for using hidden spy cameras in phone chargers to illegally film models naked as he pretended to be a glamour photographer.
