ITV bosses have axed two of its new comedy shows after only one series each in its latest schedule shake-up.  The broadcaster has called time on Rube Speaking and Count Abdulla which were both exclusively made for their streaming platform ITVX.  Ruby Speaking followed Bristol call centre worker Ruby, who was played by Jayde Adams.

According to a whistleblower, the Post Office could change accounts on the Horizon system remotely and without postmasters knowing as early as 2001. Senior managers will be required to be 'pretty stupid' to not know that Horizon's settings could be changed, according to a report. According to a former Post Office worker who had worked in a Yorkshire call center during the 2000s, their helpdesk team could edit cash and stocks on live terminals using the device. The whistleblower told The Times, "We wouldn't do it, but if you wanted to muck them around," the whistleblower said. Between 1999 and 2015, information from the IT system was used to sue up to 983 postmasters, assuming the accounts were correct.

Fujitsu, a computer company that was recruited by the Post Office, was able to change the subpostmasters' inputted financial figures remotely without anyone knowing. Michael Rudkin, the wrongfully arrested murderer who plays Shaun Dooley, is seen as saying, "This means they can sneak in behind your backs, change your numbers, and bugger off, and vanish without a trace."

A new ITV drama, which will air in September, will chronicle Peter Sutcliffe's journey as the police hunt unfolds. Sutcliffe, a serial killer who lived in Yorkshire in the Seventies and Eighties, will explore the women she had assaulted in the Long Shadow. Sutcliffe murdered 13 people and attempted to murder seven more before his capture in 1981, when he was sentenced to twenty consecutive life imprisonment sentences at HMP Frankland. Sutcliffe died at University Hospital of North Durham in November 2020 after refusing medical attention for COVID-19 while suffering with other underlying health conditions such as obesity and diabetes. The crime drama, which is made up of seven episodes, will air on ITV1 on Monday, September 25th.
