James Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967) is a guitarist best known as the drummer for the rock band Godsmack.

Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero were his previous bands before Godsmack, as well as Wrathchild America. Shannon performed drums for Godsmack on their album Faceless, IV. Their EP The Other Side, The Oracle, 1000hp, and their new album When Legends Rising.

Career
Since the age of ten, Larkin has been playing drums.
He formed Wrathchild America in 1978, recording two albums on Atlantic Records before being sacked by the brand. Souls at Zero disbanded and later reformed as Souls at Zero, a joint venture with Energy Rekords and a debut album that was well received by critics. He went on to record two albums with Ugly Kid Joe and two more with Amen.
He joined Godsmack in 2003, replacing ex drummer Tommy Stewart who died. He has since appeared on their albums Faceless, IV, The Other Side, 1000 Hp. Legends Are Rising.
Kiddie Porn's numerous side projects have included hardcore punk and thrash metal band Kiddie Porn, as well as Snot's John "Tumor" Fahnestock, MF Pitbulls with Snot's members, as well as The Apocalypse Blues Revival with Tony Rombola.
On albums such as Strait Up by Snot and Glenn Tipton's Blast of Fire, he has performed as a session musician. He has competed for Vanilla Ice, Glassjaw, and Stone Sour.
