'It's really appropriate that it's an independent film being distributed by Neon, a very independent distributor.' Mann admitted to his first visit to Modena, which is mainly where the film was shot, during the interview, which also teased the possibility of making a Heat 2 film. While touring the insular town a decade ago, he captured the many locations he visited, including Ferrari's barbershop, the exterior of his house, and San Cataldo's Citero, where Ferrari was interred in 1988, 32 years after his son Dino was laid to rest in 1956.
