Sam Farr, 78, has snapped a picture in five decades since the 1970s, each time with his same trusted barber and sporting the same haircut. His first photograph, a black and white'selfie', was taken in 1973 (pictured far left), when his barber and lifelong friend Joe Joe was shaving his hair. The father-of-two, who hails from Bath, Somerset, has maintained the Giuseppe's of Bath tradition since 1985, 2015, and 2023. In each photograph, Sam is smiling throughout the years, during which the barbershop has shifted location three times, and he is sporting a new camera.
