Rupert Everett has admitted that wild sex in his youth was 'fraught with danger' amid the AIDS epidemic. The actor, 65, spoke in a candid new interview about his sexual awakening in London which despite the dangers he said he still found 'thrilling'. Rupert - who is now happily married to husband Henrique, a Brazilian accountant - also spoke about dating women in his youth as it was more acceptable at the time.

Charles Spencer (inset) has revealed he once took a shower with Colin Firth - and the actor even said he had a 'fantastic bottom'. The brother of Princess Diana, 60, was an extra in the 1984 film Another Country, filmed in Oxford and London, which starred Firth and Rupert Everett. During one scene, Firth and Spencer even took a shower together while filming (pictured left is the film's shower scene). Charles posted a picture to Instagram (right) to fondly recall his interaction with Firth.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: My Best Friend's Wedding star Rupert Everett who has called getting married 'a waste of time' and 'beyond tragic'...ties the knot with his Brazilian lover
www.dailymail.co.uk,
June 7, 2024
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: He's been contemptuous of convention since at least the age of seven, when, packing for his first term at prep school, he learned he'd have to leave behind his favourite piece of clothing - a red tweed skirt. Perhaps that, in part, explains why Rupert Everett used to dismiss the institution of marriage and was still more scathing about gay marriage, deriding it as 'a waste of time' and 'beyond tragic'. But that was more than a decade ago. Now, I can disclose, the actor, whose greatest box-office success was as Julia Roberts's gay chum in My Best Friend's Wedding, has figuratively waltzed down the aisle with the man with whom he's discreetly shared his life for years, a Brazilian accountant called Henrique.
LIBBY PURVES: Spacey knows he's no saint, but none of his very human failings is worth this pearl-clutching, spiteful campaign to destroy him...
www.dailymail.co.uk,
May 8, 2024
Enough of the bullying: time to call a halt on the vengeful, tediously prurient industry of 'cancelling' Kevin Spacey for bouts of inappropriate behaviour dating back up to 48 years. He has worn the hair shirt for seven years; anything longer is pure spite on our part. In 2022 and 2023, Spacey was exonerated in courts on both sides of the Atlantic after several men had alleged sexual misbehaviour against him. In that process, he had to forfeit any privacy and acknowledge his loneliness and 'promiscuity' as a closeted gay man who was forced - as they all were for decades - to hide his true self thanks to the dated primness of Hollywood. (He had seen the careers of other gay leading men, such as Rupert Everett, collapse.)

From Soho's Bar Italia to London's oldest deli dating back to Queen Victoria's reign: How Italy's food and drink culture took hold in the capital - as city faces shortage of Italian waiters due to post-Brexit rules
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 10, 2024
For anyone wanting Italian food in London today, there are hundreds of venues to choose from. From what was Little Italy in Clerkenwell to the hub of Italian venues in Soho, the capital is awash with outlets serving pasta, pizza and other dishes. The history of Italian food and culture in the capital stretches back to the 19th century, when immigrant ice cream sellers (bottom right, an ice cream seller in 1877) flogged their wares on poverty-stricken streets. London's oldest delicatessen, Terroni of Clerkenwell (top right), which opened during the reign of Queen Victoria, is still trading today. As is the iconic Soho establishment Bar Italia (left, and inset recently), which was set up in 1949 to serve good coffee and act as a social hub for the capital's Italian community.
According to GYLES BRANDRETH, I'm so jealous of my celebrity chums' sexual adventures... One-and-a-half Shades Of Beige will be the story of my love life
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 8, 2024
Spring has arrived. The sap is rising. And I am a jumbled mess of regrets. In recent months, I've been hosting Rosebud, in which I talk to people about their early memories. I talk to them about their youth love lives, their adolescent adventures, the fun and games they played in their 20s. This week, as the distinguished guests arrive, I am finding myself increasingly dissatisfied that they have lived lives of high anticipation even though I haven't lived at all. They've done stuff that I never dared do.
Rupert Everett has lived a 'wild, sex-fuelled life' and 'lived with 'gay abandon' sleeping with 'young men, old men and women, too' Gyles Brandreth reveals
www.dailymail.co.uk,
April 4, 2024
Gyles Brandreth (inset), 76, said he interviewed actor Rupert Everett (left and right) for his Rosebud podcast, and that his sex life was 'beige' and 'boring' in comparison. Everett, who hails from Wiltshire and has said he 'loves being a gay man,' has slept with a diverse number of people, according to Brandreth. 'What a wild, sex-fuelled life the actor has lived,' the former MP told the Telegraph.' And how befound my life has been. He had young men, old men, and women, as well. Rupe was having it away with gay abandonment at noon and night.'
After enjoying cross-dressing as a child, Rupert Everett says if he grew up today, he'd be able to change gender and become a woman.'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
March 22, 2024
As a child, the 64-year-old said he was a "great cross-dresser" and that he would have "fully transitioned" if he had been born in a younger age. However, the actor said he did not have to be a woman because he adores being a gay man." 'I was a very shy, quiet child,' Everett said on the Rosebud podcast. I loved being in cupboards. I was a good cross-dresser, I'd be a woman if this was today because I took one of my mother's discarded skirts and wore it, pretending to be Julie Andrews' daughter.'
Could William and Harry be reunited at the Duke of Westminster's wedding? EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE:
www.dailymail.co.uk,
March 21, 2024
EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: With invitations sent for Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor's wedding, a society guessing game is emerging as to whether Harry will attend the function in June. If he does, it will be the first time he and William were under the same roof since their father's coronation. Grosvenor, 33, is staying stable, enjoying a positive relationship with both, leaving it up to them to handle their family drama. However, the home team could have a leg up on the others. On the big day in Chester Cathedral, the Duke is godfather to Prince George, who may also be a page boy. When Harry appeared via video last week, he might imitate his attendance at the Diana Legacy Awards.

Ampleforth College has confirmed that Labour's proposed fee increase to parents will not be accepted by Aristote.'
www.dailymail.co.uk,
January 3, 2024
Peter Roberts, the headmaster, said Ampleforth College, who has 222 years old, would do everything possible to reduce the costs of the party's decision to charge 20% VAT on tuition. If elected, Labour will also scrap the 80% exemption from the college known as the 'Catholic Eton' and other private schools will be paid on business rates. Many families may face costly tuition if schools opt for the higher prices, which Labour would introduce in its first year in office. But Mr Roberts, 61, said: "If there is a VAT thing, we will not pass it on to the parents." We'll just do everything we can to make sure we make it through, as we always do.' Last September, Labour retaliated after a threat to withdraw the charitable status of private schools, but is going forward with the tax reforms. According to the party, citing a report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank, these could amount to £1.5 billion a year to be invested back into state schools.
According to HELEN JOYCE, I almost wept with relief when Kemi Badenoch spoke out against the 'epidemic' of gay children being encouraged to change gender
www.dailymail.co.uk,
December 7, 2023
HELEN JOYCE: Last night, I received a panic call from a father who had been arrested and detained in a police cell overnight. His 'crime'?His teenage daughter had told her parents she was attracted to girls but now she was identified as a boy. When her parents inquired about this, she told them she was in imminent danger because she was a girl. The police were shortly knocked at the family's door. Why I almost wept with relief on Wednesday after learning that women and equality minister Kemi Badenoch (left) had bravely spoken out about it. Ms Badenoch drew attention to what she correctly described as the "epidemic" among young gay and bisexual teenagers, many of whom are not old enough to vote or drive a vehicle, who are transgender and given drugs that can cause sterilization or other irreversible harm.
ALEXANDRA SHULMAN'S NOTEBOOK: The only thing you'll lose on a faddy diet is your sanity!

I'm signing up for Zoe, the popular system that allows you to wear a blood sugar monitor on your upper arm and claims to be both healthier and less bloated. Ah, and I'm losing some weight. Who knows if it will make a difference. It's likely that it would take a while, as well as other diets I have tried over the years. But the biggest thing isn't whether they work, but why they - and millions of others - attempt them.
Rupert Everett is a spiky, witty, and tender. Laurence Olivier would have loved him: PATRICK MARMION reviews A Voyage Round My Father
www.dailymail.co.uk,
October 6, 2023
MARMION CAP: Laurence Olivier is one of Laurence Olivier's most difficult acts to follow. Why would you even try? However, Ruett has set himself on a quest for John Mortimer's ode to his eccentric, blind barrister father, who died in the years before and after World War II. Olivier played Clifford Mortimer in the 1982 television film, as his writer son, John (who went on to create Rumpole Of The Bailey). This, however, is Mortimer junior's tale of growing up in the shadow of a non-conformist father who never addressed him only as 'The Boy.'
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Oscar-winning screenwriter attacks Madonna and Rupert Everett for how their rom-com flop had a punishing effect on director John Schlesinger before he died
www.dailymail.co.uk,
August 1, 2023
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Madonna and Rupert Everett would doubtless disregard the existence of the 2000 flop film, but Oscar-winning screenwriter Frederic Raphael has launched a stinging attack on the pair for the punishing effect on its producer, John Schlesinger. It was his last film before he died 20 years ago this month. You once more absconded from England in order to make the last Hollywood film The Next Greatest Thing, with Madonna and Rupert Everett, in a letter published in Schlesinger's book Last Post. You were no longer a director for whom it was a privilege to serve. You worked for them and they knew it. In the mastering of a one-time master by two pseudo-stars who revel in the knowledge that he has a job only because they choose him.' Ouch!
Phillip Schofield's affair with his coworker, Rupert Everett, has been described as "Puritan fascism."
www.dailymail.co.uk,
June 2, 2023
Since Mr Schofield's surprise departure from ITV's This Morning, campaigner Peter Tatchell has also sluggishly criticized the media, accusing the coverage of 'homophobia.' Mr Everett, the source of the scandal, said the reporting on the affair had been "insane" and that Mr Schofield's conduct was not public interest. He said: 'What's he done, this person? He's married and has had an affair with someone with whom it is unlawful to have an affair. If there's something else we haven't heard about, they should delete it.' This is an oddity in the case of Puritan fascism.' 'It's crazy, everything about today is mad, but this is yet another moment of insanity,' he said.'
