Meet George Galloway, the fedora-wearing, Pro-Gaza firebrand who gave Starmer a bloody nose: Four-times married new Rochdale MP boasts a love life as stormy as his political career (and pretended to be a milk-licking cat on Celebrity Big Brother)

Sir Keir Starmer's landslide victory in Rochdale last night, which was another major change in his career. He is back in the big time after 18 years to the day, when he embraced Sir Jimmy Savile and embarrassed himself as he licked pretend milk out of actress Rula Lenska's hand. As the conflict between Israel and Hamas rages, Mr Galloway has won one of the most tumultuous by-elections in recent times by mainly attacking Muslim voters and being pro-Palestine. His only real goals seemed to be to return a maternity hospital and a Primark. Rochdale is the seventh parliamentary victory for the constituency-hopping politician. He has been married four times and had six children in those four decades. A king of choosing sides, often with a lot of controversies, is more likely to support President Putin's Russia and the Ayatollahs' Iran than those leading Britain. When Sergei Skripal was poisoned with Novichok in Salisbury, Galloway, Galloway, went on television to say that Russia should be on the 'bottom of the list' of suspects. He has worked for Labour, Independent Labour, Respect, and now the Workers Party of the United Kingdom, whose campaign literature has proclaimed that the fedora-hatted firebrand was a mentor to Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and Yasser Arafat. Galloway's tour to Iraq's murderous tyrant Saddam Hussein in the 1990s sparked a lot of people, but he never claimed that his remarks were directed to the Iraqi civilians. And though Hussein and the rest of his comrades are dead, Galloway is still alive and kicking. 'George is important again,' one supporter said today.'

When George Galloway pretended to be a cat on Big Brother: Moment the new MP for Rochdale got down on all fours and pretended to lap up milk from actress Rula Lenska's hands

George Galloway, the new MP for Rochdale, used to be a cat on Big Brother, getting down on all fours and claiming to guzzle milk from actress Rula Lenska's hands. When Rula played as a male in a human and animal interaction task, he was seen nibbling from the actress' hands as he assumed the role of a cat. "Want me to be the cat," George mused before focusing on all fours and purring at Rula.

Angie Bowie emerges from the diary room in shock after being bombarded with foreign news. Tiffany Pollard, the queen of reality television, begged Bowie to tell her what's happened, and she uttered the words that changed reality TV's course, "David's Dead." Tiffany wailed ferocious, immediately assuming that David Guest, their fellow celebrity housemate, had died.

The Follies come rocking back with a blast from the 70s: PATRICK MARMION reviews Rock Follies

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 4, 2023
PATRICK MARMION Heraclitus warned us 2,500 years ago that you should not step in the same river twice. The tide has already risen. But that hasn't stopped anyone from trying - as they are in Chichester, with a spirited new musical honoring the Seventies television series Rock Follies starring Carly Bawden, Angela Marie Hurst, and Zizi Strallen. I'm old enough to have a foggy recall of the original program. The late Charlotte Cornwell, sonorous Julie Covington, and Rula Lenska were three women who defied the misogynistic establishment to form the Little Ladies, an all-female rock band (the name is ironic). Chloe Moss' script reimagines the old screenplays to suit a modern audience's sensibilities. It's been purged of racial stereotypes, is more inclusive, with an openly gay personality, smokeless cigarettes, and more swearing than it would have gotten past Mary Whitehouse. It lacks the original's confrontational edge from its soaring heights of modern illumination. The suggestion that women might work together to defy leery men from copping a feeling and controlling their company no longer comes as a surprise.

EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Despite William's vehement anti-ivory views, his stepmother Queen Camilla will be adorned with the Ivory Rod with Dove at her Coronation alongside King Charles. Chieftainess Rebecca Banika of Botswana gives Camilla a warm recommendation after confirming that the allegation is not universal. "It's certainly a good move for the Queen of England to advocate for the use of wildlife products such as ivory," she says.

CRAIG BROWN: Sir Oswald's croc shock on Crackerjack! Irma Mafia, a university from Cork, reads the News from the Vatican

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 17, 2022
1958: CRAIG BROWN: 1958: On the children's show Crackerjack, disgraced fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley appears. 'It's a fine way to get my message of European Unity to the young people of this world of ours,' he says. 'I have every reason to believe that my participation on this prestigious display will bring me to the forefront of the political arena.' However, life takes a sour note when roly-poly host Peter Glaze ushers him into a cage that is already occupied by a crocodile.
