London will have an NFL team by 2030 and host a Super Bowl by 2035, says top expert
www.dailymail.co.uk,
October 18, 2024
The NFL's third and final London game of the season will be the 39th to be held in the city since 2007. And like many of the previous matchups, Sunday's matinee at Wembley will be played between a couple of league bottom feeders in the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars. But if local interest in the NFL can survive these dismal 1-5 teams, there are better days ahead for Britain's growing number of gridiron football fans. 'Before the end of this decade, there will be an NFL team established in London playing at Tottenham Hot Spurs Stadium,' top expert Dennis Deninger tells DailyMail.com. 'And within five years after that, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host the Super Bowl .'

Rees-Zammit was signed to the Jaguars' practice squad in August after he was let go by defending champions Kansas City Chiefs. Although NFL rules permit teams to promote two members of the practice squad to the 55-player roster on game day, Rees-Zammit was not selected for the game inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
NFL's Roger Goodell is open to an overseas Super Bowl... but leading expert already knows what he'll do
www.dailymail.co.uk,
October 13, 2024
Is the Super Bowl leaving the United States? NFL commissioner Roger Goodell left the door open for an overseas Super Bowl when speaking to reporters in London ahead of Sunday's Jacksonville Jaguars-Chicago Bears game from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, the 65-year-old executive didn't paint that possibility as an immediate priority. 'We've always traditionally tried to play a Super Bowl in an NFL city - that was always sort of a reward for the cities that have NFL franchises,' Goodell said Saturday. 'But things change. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happens one day.'
The NFL's first ever trip to Brazil is lucrative for the league, but for fans it's expensive - and even players feel unsafe... so is tonight's Sao Paulo game a step too far?
www.dailymail.co.uk,
September 6, 2024
After bringing its product to the United Kingdom and Germany in 2023, the NFL's age of exploration continues Friday in Sao Paulo, Brazil where the Green Bay Packers will square off with the Philadelphia Eagles in the league's first game ever played in South America. And much like Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci before him, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and his cohorts are crossing the equator for financial reasons. Even for a league that generated $13 billion in national revenue last year, tapping into the world's eighth-largest economy, with a reported 38 million gridiron football fans, sounds like a good bet. But Goodell's math on the NFL's business trip to Sao Paulo ignores complicating factors facing players and fans, such as crime in the area. So is this game a step too far for the league?

The NFL earned a collective $13 billion in media fees, sponsorships, shared revenue and royalties from league subsidiaries, according to Sportico , which reports that each club will receive just over $400 million from the commissioner's office for the 2023 season. That figure represents between a 6- and 8-percent uptick for the NFL. Remarkably, the $404 million NFL teams received from the league for the 2023 season does not include any ticket sales, team sponsorships, concession sales or parking fees. The league has declined to comment on the reporting by Sportico, which releases the league's annual profits from the preceding season each July. Sportico's reporting has been corroborated by the Green Bay Packers' annual reports.

Raiders owner Mark Davis told ESPN back in May that he and Brady have agreed for the former quarterback to join the franchise's ownership group but await the NFL's approval.

Jason Kelce joked that he and his brother Travis' 'New Heights' podcast was behind commissioner Roger Goodell's latest NFL proposal. Earlier this week, Goodell suggested that the NFL could soon adopt an 18-game regular season (up from 17), which would cause Super Bowl Sunday to be moved to Presidents' Day weekend, when US fans have Monday off. And while the recently-retired Jason won't be playing through those changes himself, he believes he and Travis were ahead of the curve.

The move comes as Goodell looks to re-structure the league's timetable. While most regular season games will remain, Goodell hopes to add another by eliminating the preseason. On an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, the commissioner opened up on his ideas. 'I think we're good at 17 [games] now,' Goodell said. 'But, listen, we're looking at how we continue. I'm not a fan of the preseason. The reality is, I'd rather replace a preseason game with a regular-season game any day. That's just picking quality.'

'With all due respect, you don't need it cause you're not suiting up, and there's a lot of veterans who don't,' Andrews wrote on Instagram.

Will any teams trade up? Two of our writers decided to take their chance on trying to pick the first round of the draft right. We'll probably fail, but that's the fun in all of it.

Michael McCarthy of FOS puts the over/under on opening bids at around $50 million.
