High school career
In Decatur, Georgia, Ya-Sin attended Southwest DeKalb High School. On February 5, 2015, he was rated as a two-star recruit and committed to Presbyterian.
College career
Ya-Sin moved mid-year to Temple after Presbyterian decided to move to a non-scholarship conference in the FCS. Ya-Sin was chosen to play in the 2019 Senior Bowl after a career of 44 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, and 12 pass breakups.
Professional career
In the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Ya-Sin was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the 34th overall pick in the second round. Ya-Sin had his first career interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11 on Monday after a pass was kicked by Nick Foles in the 33-13 victory. Ya-Sin was selected to Pro Football Focus' All-Rookie Team.
Ya-Sin changed his jersey number to 26 before the season, saying he wanted "a new start." In week 2 of the Minnesota Vikings, he was inactive against him due to a stomach virus.
Ya-Sin made his first interception of the season against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11 after losing by 34 to 31.
On March 16, 2022, Ya-Sin was traded to the Las Vegas Clippers in exchange for Yannick Ngakoue.
