My wife gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy, whom I adore with all my heart five months ago. However, I find myself unable to enjoy what should be a magical moment as I am still haunted by what I saw during the presentation. Her labour was long and painful, and culminated in her screaming in agony with a team of doctors trying to save her and the baby's life, as I continued to cling desperately. Every second of it was awful. I will never forget her pain.

Millions of us, as a result of the Princess of Wales' illness, expressed a deep sadness and fear for her and her children.
