PLAYER RATINGS: Which Premier League star shone in Germany's clash against Switzerland? Which defender looked shaky? And who could prove to be the breakout star of Euro 2024?

Germany ensured they would progress to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 as group winners after a dramatic injury-time goal from Niclas Fullkrug secured a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.
Robert Andrich thought he had put Germany ahead in the first half, before his goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up. Dan Ndoye then shocked the hosts as he netted his first international goal and Switzerland continued to frustrate Germany with a near-perfect performance. They thought they had secured the win late on, but Ruben Vargas had an effort ruled out for offside, before Fullkrug's last-gasp header levelled the clash, with Murat Yakin's side finishing second in Group A on five points.
From our Man in Munich: German hosts keep it low-key as a continent comes to party

There was a time when the act of betting against Germany in a major tournament was deemed to be only marginally less advisable than plunging one's hand straight into a deep fat fryer. When the football-mad nation saw off Argentina in the 2014 World Cup final, they joined Italy as the only European team to have claimed the trophy four times. Yet, with three European Championships also to their name - a feat matched only by Spain - they have been, unarguably, this continent's preeminent footballing nation across the last 94 years.
Germany's Euros party will fall flat if hosts fail to find winning formula

GARY LINEKER once claimed that football is a simple game. A group of 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and, in the end, the Germans always win.
It was a nice turn of phrase which, at the time, encapsulated Germany's involvement in major tournaments.
Over recent years, however, they have been conspicuous by their absence at the business end.

Bayer Leverkusen completed their unbeaten Bundesliga campaign by beating Augsburg 2-1 on Saturday. Having wrapped up the title several weeks ago, the final league match of the season was always set to be a joyous occasion for Xabi Alonso's men in front of their home fans, and they did not disappoint. The hosts took the lead through Victor Boniface inside 12 minutes and then doubled their advantage 15 minutes later thanks to Robert Andrich.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Eintracht's victory at Marseille overshadows a cloud of people

Marseille lost 1-0 at home to Europa League champion Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday, and careless defence cost the team yet again in the Champions League. Coach Igor Tudor's side is undefeated in the French league, but his team lacks a cutting edge at this level. Marseille looked organised and unhurried, just like last week against Tottenham Hotspur, but they fell behind in the 43rd minute after a defensive mistake allowed attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrom to score. Daichi Kamada, a Japan midfielder, thought he had made it 2-0 in the 79th, but his bid was rejected due to offside.
