Stuart Brand died of a suspected self-inflicted gun shot at Adelaide's Outer Harbour shortly before 6pm on Monday. Despite desperate efforts from paramedic colleagues, Mr Brand could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not treating the incident as suspicious. Mr Brand, who had joined SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) in 2008, was remembered as an 'esteemed colleague and paramedic'. 'Stuart was a highly regarded and respected clinician within SAAS,' Rob Elliott,  CEO of the SAAS said.

On December 27, Eddie, a 54-year-old disabled man, summoned paramedics to his assisted living facility in Hectorville, Adelaide's northeast, as he suffered from abdominal pain and vomiting.
